Philosophy
The philosophy that guides the way I design and create my reels comes from a huge passion: being able to manufacture objects using the briar-roots that nature gives me and then see them come back to their natural environment, in the hands of a fisherman.
My work is for those who – while practicing the leading discipline of game fishing – do not settle for a standard reel, but understand the value of a real precision mechanism, which has been especially created to be paired with their own rod.
This is why I select and use only the best briar-roots and the noblest metals, assembling them according to my ideas and with a design that creates the perfect union between craftsmanship, design and the rod of fly-fishermen.
Characteristics and Manufacturing
Every phase of the design is manual and handmade, every piece is unique and cannot be equally reproduced in its own distinctive features.
The front of each reel is strengthened with an internal steel ring blocked with epoxy resin.
All models are finished and waterproofed with a special product that gives the hand an extremely natural feeling, keeping the reels safe from water and humidity at the same time.
I create two types of reels: direct drive or anti-reverse. All models have radial bearings, thrust bearing and Teflon disc drags.
Customizations
My reels come entirely from my own experience, inspiration and creativity. However, this doesn’t mean that they can’t be complemented with the desires of the client, thus giving life to even more unique and personalized pieces.
Therefore, it is possible to choose the materials to be used among the ones I carefully select for quality and reliability. It is possible to choose the type of metal (bronze, aluminium, etc.), the type of wood (yellow or standard amboine or other types which are apt for the purpose), the type of action (direct or reverse) and, within the limits of feasibility and functionality, even the design of the whole reel.
